SAY WATT? Auto Trader attempts Guinness World Record for the Largest Online Quiz

7th November 2022, London – On Tuesday 15th November at 7pm Auto Trader is attempting to make quizzing history, in hopes of taking home the title of Largest Online Quiz in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Auto Trader is offering players a chance to win one of 173 prizes if they pledge their support by signing up and participating on the night. The marketplace is urging the UK to sign up to take part in the quiz. Since signups went live on Wednesday 2nd November, Auto Trader has already seen over 48,000 registrations come through. However, a warning to players is that there are only 50,000 quiz spots available on the night, so those who want to play are advised to sign up for reminders.

Presenting Auto Trader’s quiz will be its very own Rory Reid, YouTube Director and Simon Hosannah, Client Director and Olympic Announcer extraordinaire.

Participants of the quiz can expect to be tested not only for their knowledge but also for their speed of response. They must answer as many questions as possible correctly, but also as quickly as possible to really rack up the points.

Although in this quiz, coming first isn’t the benchmark for a prize win – it really is the taking part that counts, with spot prizes and lucky dips up for grabs throughout the night. Players who want to be a part of the Guinness World Record attempt alongside Auto Trader should stay tuned until the very end and answer every question. If a player does miss a question, they could still win a prize, but they’ll miss out on being included in the World Record attempt.

Auto Trader is giving away 173 prizes during the quiz, including electric skateboards, electric blankets, electric toothbrushes and three electric vehicles:

The bike will be won at the end of round three, the overall winner and recipient of the Mokka Electric will be declared at the end of the quiz, and players will need to stay tuned to see at which point in the quiz Corsa Electric will be up for grabs. What's more, at the end of each round Auto Trader will be giving away ten prizes to players who ranked in various positions e.g., 1, 100, 250, 1000 etc. And that’s not all. For every question that is answered correctly, players get a ‘lucky dip token’. Each token gives each player one chance at winning one of 100 additional electric prizes. Winners will be picked out at random at the end of the quiz.

Rory Reid, YouTube Director at Auto Trader, said: “Never has the saying, ‘You have to be in it, to win it’ been truer. This is going to be the quiz of all quizzes, and we want to take home the title, but we need help, help in the form of everyone in the UK. I’m urging everyone to head over to our website and sign up, if not for the electric energy I promise to bring, for the 173 fantastic prizes we will be giving away. Whilst you’re on site signing up, it might be a good time to level up on some electric vehicle knowledge – no spoilers but it might be helpful...”
