Vauxhall boasts Fastest Selling Used Cars for November 2015

Vauxhall Insignia was the UK’s fastest selling car for November 2015.

  • Hybrid makes second ever appearance in national top 10 fastest selling used cars
  • Vauxhall Corsa and VW Touran models fastest selling in London, East Midlands, Wales and Yorkshire
  • Nissan Note dominated in the North of England for 12th consecutive month
  • Ford Fiesta was first, second and third fastest selling car in Northern Ireland

Vauxhalls are flying off forecourts across the UK, with the Insignia announced as overall fastest selling used car in November, according to data collected by Auto Trader, the UK’s largest digital automotive marketplace. The Insignia’s stable mate model, Corsa and VW’s Touran also proved popular, as the fastest selling used vehicles in London, East Midlands, Wales and Yorkshire.

The 2012 Vauxhall Insignia hatchback petrol variant, with manual transmission, sold in an average of just 20 days across the UK.

November 2015 also sees the second ever appearance of an alternative fuel vehicle in the overall fastest selling top ten, with the 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander MPV Electric Hybrid coming in third place, averaging 24 days to sell – just four days behind the leader. The Mitsubishi Hybrid was the only vehicle in the top 10 to average in excess of 100% price position.

The Nissan Note stayed close to its Sunderland roots as it dominated in the North of England for the 12th month running, proving fastest selling in both the North East and North West.

The Ford Fiesta, not content with achieving just first place, took the whole podium, to finish first, second and third fastest selling in Northern Ireland.

“The fastest seller figures are reported by Auto Trader on a monthly basis, providing motor industry commentators and retailers with essential used car sales trend data.” said Karolina Edwards-Smajda, Auto Trader Retailer & Consumer Products Director. “November was a strong month for Vauxhall, with the Insignia named the overall fastest selling model this month, and other Vauxhall products performing well in multiple regions.

But perhaps the most interesting find of all was the Mitsubishi Outlander MPV Electric Hybrid, marking the second time ever an alternative fuel vehicle has made the top 10 fastest selling nationally – highlighting the UK’s growing appetite for hybrid models. The overall market remains solid with the average market days to turn, averaging 64 days and i-Control customers continuing their strong performance, turning their cars in 30 days using market intelligence data to manage their forecourts”.
