Auto Trader reaches the Top 75 Employers in the Social Mobility Employer Index 2023
We are pleased to announce that Auto Trader has been recognised as one of the Top 75 employers in the Social Mobility Employer Index for the third consecutive year by The Social Mobility Foundation.
The Social Mobility Index is the leading authority on employer-led social mobility and is an annual benchmarking and assessment tool for employers. The Index shows how employers perform on eight areas of employer-led social mobility and it supports organisations to attract and retain the most talented performers. The Index is a rigorous assessment of the steps being taken by employers to ensure talent from all social backgrounds can get in and get on in organisations. 143 organisations entered the index in 2023 and in total entrants employed over one million people.
We’re delighted to once again be featured in the Social Mobility Employer Index and join a long list of incredible companies that continue to strive to improve social mobility in the UK."
This year we’ve been committed more than ever before to drive the conversation around Social Mobility both within Auto Trader and the wider tech community. We launched our Social Mobility Employee Network to bring even more focus to our ambitions to showcase that careers and opportunities in tech are and can be accessible to all, regardless of background, education or socioeconomic status. This network has been led by a group of truly inspirational and passionate colleagues from across Auto Trader with a keen interest in improving upward mobility."

Sarah continued:
Strategically in order for us get a better understanding of our employee landscape, we regularly check in with all our people through social mobility surveys. In addition to this, we also celebrate our individuals through engaging activities such as a WOW wall where colleagues can celebrate how their peer’s inspiration or support has made a major impact on their career or development."
