Stars and their cars: what celebs born in 1971 are driving today
With September’s number plate change on the horizon, Auto Trader, the UK’s largest digital marketplace for new and used cars, is celebrating the new ‘71’ reg by taking a look at the cars of celebrities born in 1971.
Strap in, as first up is CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk. Naturally, he drives Teslas of all shapes and sizes including the Model X, the Cybertruck and the Roadster, though it’s the Model S which Musk has admitted he drives the most – perhaps behind his Starship. If you fancy a brand new ‘71’ plate Tesla, you’re in luck, as they will be available to buy on Auto Trader from September.
Amanda Holden, another member of the ’71 club, is reported to have celebrated her 48th birthday in 2019 by treating herself to a £160,000 Mercedes G Wagon – the same make and model as Kim Kardashian’s. There are 153 of this model currently being advertised on Auto Trader, so you’d better be quick if you want to join the girls and ride in style.
Believe it or not, rapper Missy Elliot was also born in 1971 and is a supercar fanatic. From the Spyker C8 to the Lincoln Navigator, through to the Lamborghini Gallardo, there is no car this woman does not own. She even bought a real Ferrari and transformed it into her bed. Make your own dreams a reality by purchasing a brand-new supercar on Auto Trader.
Fellow singer Ricky Martin was also born in 1971 and appears to be a bit less showy with his choice of vehicle. Most recently spotted in a Chevrolet Suburban – a modest SUV. You can get your hands on a wide range of brand-new SUVs on Auto Trader from September and start living your Vida Loca.
50-year-old actress, Sandra Oh also opts for a humble vehicle – the classic Prius. Perhaps she needs something more fitting for her character - a ‘71’ reg? We’re thinking ‘KIL71NG EVE’.
Next up is actor Sacha Baron Cohen, also born in 1971, most famous for playing Borat. Sacha is reported to like to keep a low-profile in real life and loves driving respectable cars. Amongst his collection are the Audi A8 L, Mini Cooper S and Land Rover Discovery. All popular vehicles which too can be found on Auto Trader.
Auto Trader’s Rory Reid says: “There is a wide range of choices onsite for brand new cars that are in stock and available now – you could be driving like the stars come September with a shiny ‘71’ plate.”
