ULEZ compliance doesn't always cost, says Auto Trader

  • Transport for London’s Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) was extended on August 29th to include all London boroughs
  • Petrol cars must meet Euro 4 emissions standards to be ULEZ compliant, which generally equates to vehicles registered after 2005
  • Currently there are over 2,300 compliant cars £2,000 and below and over 5,200 compliant cars in the £5,000 and under price range available on Auto Trader across the UK
  • Diesel cars must meet Euro 6 emissions standards to be ULEZ compliant, which generally equates to vehicles registered after September 2015
  • Of all compliant diesel stock, 12% is <£10,000, 46% is £10,000 - £20,000 and 23% is £20,000 - £30,000
  • Following reports of 57,000 drivers paying the daily charge, we’ve compiled a list to help drivers save themselves £12.50 a day with cars they’ll still love

Following the extension of the ULEZ in August, owners of more enthusiast-oriented cars, typically diesels, living within the zone now face a decision between paying the daily charge to keep a much-loved but non-compliant model or swapping for something similar but clean enough to avoid the penalty.
