Sharon Randall is to step down as Auto Trader’s Sales Director in April, but will continue working with the business on a part-time basis supporting the senior leadership team.
Le Etta Pearce, Sales Director, and Darren Moon, Sales Director, are to replace Randall and will join the Company’s Operational Leadership Team, taking joint responsibility for the overall satisfaction, growth and value delivery for vehicle retailers in the UK.
Randall has been with Auto Trader, the UK’s largest digital automotive marketplace, for over 17 years where she has held a number of senior leadership positions. She joined Auto Trader in 1999 as General Manager for the North London print division, she then moved into a Regional Managing Director position in the South East, moving to Digital in 2009 before she became the Group’s UK Sales Director in 2013.
As the Group’s UK Sales Director, Randall was tasked with leading the Commercial Sales Team, which is in excess of 300 people, to help shape and drive the future of the automotive industry. Her efforts have been directed towards strengthening the customer relationships as well as developing and evolving the sales force capability. She has decided to work part-time so she can spend more time with her young family. She will however remain an integral part of the senior leadership team.
Randall’s successors Pearce and Moon have a wealth of automotive experience, Le Etta joined Auto Trader in 2014 having worked for automotive companies for the last seventeen years and Darren has been working in multiple sales and commercial leadership roles in Auto Trader for nine years in addition to his previous experience in publishing businesses.

Being part of Auto Trader throughout the transition from a print to an entirely digital business was a fantastic experience. Supporting and guiding our customers on the digital journey has been very exciting and I know the team will continue to do this. I’ll still be involved with the business, but I am also looking forward to spending more time with my family.

Le Etta and Darren will be focused on managing the on-going improvement of the customer facing parts of the business including, as Auto Trader’s CEO Trevor Mather announced in December, the removal of any sales commission payments. The teams will have more of a business advisory role with customers, where they will be focused on ensuring customers are getting the most out of current products as well as helping them win in today’s digital marketplace.
