Auto Trader partners with The Carbon Removers
United Kingdom, 20th February - Auto Trader, the UK’s largest automotive marketplace, has partnered with The Carbon Removers to purchase permanent biogenic carbon removal credits. This initiative demonstrates Auto Trader’s commitment to sustainability and its ongoing leadership in line with its strategy of “Putting the Brakes on Carbon" across the automotive and technology sectors.
The credits purchased by Auto Trader with support from Abatable represent biogenic CO2 captured and permanently stored in innovative aggregates used for road building and building blocks. This forward-thinking solution not only aligns with Auto Trader’s sustainability goals but also provides critical support for scaling carbon removal technologies that have a lasting impact on the environment.
By partnering with The Carbon Removers, we are actively supporting solutions that make a tangible difference. This purchase marks an important step in our sustainability journey, and we are proud to continue with our carbon reduction plans for our own operations and also invest in innovative carbon removal technologies that align with our vision of a greener, more sustainable future.
This collaboration with The Carbon Removers plays a key role in accelerating the adoption of engineered carbon removal solutions, including future large-scale projects such as biogenic CO2 capture with geological carbon storage in Denmark.
Key benefits of this initiative:
The support of forward-thinking organisations like Auto Trader is critical to scaling carbon removal solutions. Their purchase of biogenic carbon removal credits allows us to expand our operations and move closer to achieving large-scale impact through projects such as our Denmark expansion into biogenic CO2 capture and geological storage.
